Clearance Level 3/3152 required, access restrictions may apply.

Item #: SCP-3152

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3152's domain and IP address is to be blocked from all major internet service providers, and new servers are to be actively searched for and reported by Foundation agents. Access to the website may be granted to Level 3 personnel. All personnel assigned to SCP-3152 must be immediately detained after 3 hours for psychological screening and possible amnestic administering.

Description: SCP-3152 is a website located at ████████████.com, with an IP address of 104.███.███.███. The website contains several personal projects, attributed to "███tz", and lists an email address of ██████████@gmail.com. So far, all attempts to contact and trace this email have resulted in failure.

One of the several pages listed on the website is "██████VM", hereby designated as SCP-3152-A. Upon entry to SCP-3152-A, there are an unknown amount of "virtual machines" that the visitor can control, running various home computer operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and distributions of the Linux kernel. When the visitor clicks on a desired virtual machine, they are brought to a page where they can control it, and are given free reign on what to do with the virtual machine. The page contains the virtual machine itself, a virtual keyboard for mobile and desktop users, a "vote reset" button to reset the VM back to its default state, and a chatroom where users can communicate short, 100-character messages to eachother.

If the page is closed before 30 minutes have passed, no psychological effects will occur to the user. However, after around 32 minutes of usage, users will begin to experience a self-described irresistible "urge" to destroy the virtual machine through any means necessary. Common methods have included deleting critical system files, running a program that repeatedly opens itself, and [REDACTED]. Other users of the website, however, will usually immediately begin a "Vote for Reset", which if succeeded, restores the virtual machine to a clean and non-broken state. However, this will not stop nor halt the psychological urges to break the virtual machine. Individuals under this condition will continue to destroy the virtual machine for an indefinite amount of time. Subjects will also become extremely belligerent if access is revoked to SCP-3152-A. The longest recorded session of a personnel staff using the site is ~11 days. Amnestics have proven effective in erasing knowledge of SCP-3152-A and removing all symptoms from the subject.

Incident Log 3152-4

SCP involved: SCP-3152

Personnel involved: Junior Researcher █████ Gilles

Description: On the date of 13-01-2017, Junior Researcher █████ Gilles gained access to SCP-3152-A without authorization. He proceeded to make use of SCP-3152-A for 14 hours straight. During the end of this time, he was showing symptoms of psychosis, schizophrenia, and low functioning autism spectrum disorder. He was detained and interviewed as SCP-3152-1.

Date: January 13, 2017
Interviewee: SCP-3152-1
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Notes: SCP-3152-1 had to be physically restrained for this interview.

Testing Logs

Test 3152.1
Goal: Ascertain nature of SCP-3152-1.
Procedure: SCP-3152-1 was told to use SCP-3152-A in any way he wished. Test was done while there were no active users on the website.
Results: SCP-3152-1 used SCP-3152 over the course of 2 hours. At the 30 minute mark, SCP-3152-1 began to download malware, toolbars, and other "bad" programs onto VM1. When the test was terminated, subject was extremely hostile, necessitating use of amnestics to remove the effects of SCP-3152. Of note is a user named “cutebot”, that was always present during the test but never did anything. There were rumors that it is currently "logging" SCP-3152-A, but no evidence was found to prove this.
Test 3152.2
Goal: Record events on SCP-3152-A during a period of high activity.
Procedure: One D class personnel was told to set up a screen recorder on a test computer and leave it recording over the course of 5 hours.
Results: Several users were discovered, seemingly immune to the effects of SCP-3152-A. Users are as follows:
  • CHOCOLATEMAN
  • Technoturnovers
  • Ctrl
  • Klez
Currently, it is unknown how these users discovered SCP-3152-A, nor how they gained access to it.
In addition, two FTP servers related to SCP-3152-A were discovered, located at ftp.████████████.com and ftp.██████vm.ml. Analysis of both of these FTP servers have not found any anomalous files. Both of the FTP servers appear to be filled with random files, such as MP3s, malware, pirated software, computer operating systems, and other miscellaneous things. Both of these FTP servers are to be closely monitored by Foundation agents.
It was also discovered that simply viewing a recorded session of SCP-3152-A does not cause harmful psychological effects.

Addendum: It has been recently discovered that a new version of the software, "██████-vm-server 2.0" is being developed, and that its source code was available on the software development website GitHub, being developed by a currently unidentified individual who goes by the pseudonym "Cosmic Sans". All traces of the source code have been removed from the website for public viewing, but Cosmic Sans and Foundation personnel may still access and edit the source code.

So far, all attempts to build the server executable have resulted in failure, so it is unable to be tested for any anomalous effects. Analysis of the source code has shown no obvious anomalies, although the project's C++ source code has an unusually high amount of templates (a tool used to re-use common code) that are not used properly, resulting in attempted build times reaching over an hour in some cases.

An assigned force of Foundation programmers are to delay the release of the software indefinitely through any means, typically by making subtle changes to the underlying source code in order to produce difficult to debug errors and crashes in the software.
