There were plenty of attempts at making CollabVM Discord servers before an official one was established. Some stayed up forever, the majority went inactive, and some are just completely gone. A server created by [[Vanilla|Novella]] in September of 2016 was transferred to Dartz and made into the first official CollabVM Discord. <!-- when was it transferred? -->
In the near-end of December 2018, the first discord closed down, due to some e-drama at the time. You could only enter with a private invite during this time. The server remained fairly small at the time, being less than 100 members.
